UK to Netherlands and Netherlands to UK Freight

Arrange commercial freight between the UK and the Netherlands, with the transport option matched to your pallets, delivery requirements and customs arrangements.

UK–Netherlands Freight

Start with the supplier, postcode and collection brief.

Collecting from a Dutch supplier or distribution address starts before a vehicle arrives. The goods need to be released, the collection reference needs to be right and the site needs to be ready to load. Carnigo connects those details with the onward road movement and UK receiving requirements, and plans the reverse journey with the same care.

The right space.
The right service.

Consolidation can work well when the cargo and receiving window allow it. Where handling, access or timing call for a direct movement, we compare suitable part-load or dedicated options instead.

01Shared network

Pallets & groupage

Smaller commercial consignments can share capacity with other freight where the route, handling and delivery window allow. Loaded dimensions and stackability matter as much as pallet count.

02Part-load capacity

LTL / part loads

For a larger footprint that does not require a full trailer, we compare part-load options around floor space, gross weight and the collection and delivery requirements.

FTL

A full trailer can suit the volume or operating brief. The equipment, loading method and site access are confirmed against the actual cargo before booking.

Dedicated & express

A suitable dedicated vehicle may be preferable when timing or handling calls for a more direct plan. Capacity and the workable schedule are confirmed for the shipment.

UK collection

UK to the Netherlands

For a UK-to-Netherlands shipment, provide the exact Dutch delivery postcode, site contact and receiving instructions. We coordinate collection and onward transport around the agreed unloading arrangements and delivery window.

Netherlands collection

Netherlands to the UK

For a Netherlands-to-UK collection, share the Dutch supplier’s release reference, loading address and opening hours. The loaded dimensions and UK receiving requirements help us choose between a shared network and more direct transport.

Route planning

A Dutch postcode does not decide the ferry crossing.

The collection or delivery address in the Netherlands and the Channel crossing are separate decisions. A Rotterdam address, for example, does not mean that the freight must travel on a Rotterdam ferry service.

  1. Dutch supplier collection

    Release reference · postcode

  2. Agreed Channel crossing

    Calais / Dunkirk where appropriate

  3. UK business delivery

    Access · receiving requirements

We consider Calais or Dunkirk where appropriate and confirm the actual crossing as part of the quotation. The Dutch postcode, UK address, available capacity, goods and delivery requirements all feed into that decision.

Consolidation and direct transport bring different handling and timing considerations. Tell us if the supplier requires advance vehicle details, a collection booking or particular loading equipment, and whether the consignee accepts a delivery window or needs a confirmed slot.

Customs coordination

One route.
An agreed customs plan.

The Dutch loading address does not determine the customs process on its own. We coordinate the goods information, appointed agents and transport plan around the direction and crossing confirmed for the shipment.

Confirm the procedure

For Great Britain–EU movements, declarations, movement references and any transit arrangements are matched to the goods, direction and agreed crossing. There is no universal paperwork checklist for every load.

Tell us if Northern Ireland is involved so the relevant arrangements can be checked separately.

What affects the quotation

A clear brief.
A workable quote.

Include supplier release details, loading access and any collection booking process. A precise Dutch postcode and the receiver’s requirements are more useful than a city name alone.

Useful answers

Planning your
UK–Netherlands Freight.

The address, cargo and operating brief determine the plan. Here are the questions that help clarify it.

Can you collect pallets from a supplier in the Netherlands?

Yes, subject to the route and suitable partner capacity. We need the collection address, supplier contact, goods-release confirmation and loading requirements, as well as the loaded pallet dimensions and weight.

Does a UK–Netherlands shipment have to use a Rotterdam ferry crossing?

No. The Dutch collection or delivery address does not fix the crossing. We consider suitable routing, including Calais or Dunkirk where appropriate, and confirm the route in the quotation.

How do you choose between groupage and a dedicated vehicle?

We compare the cargo footprint, weight, handling and required timing. Groupage shares capacity with other consignments; dedicated transport may suit a shipment that needs a more direct plan or has specific operating constraints.

What loading and delivery details are needed before booking?

Confirm the supplier release reference, loading hours, available loading equipment and vehicle access. For delivery, provide the exact postcode, receiving hours, booking process and unloading arrangements.
